Guides for every role, and an assistant that has read them
September 20, 2026 · Abdulkareem H. Ali
For a long time the answer to "how do I…" in Tawaasal was to ask us. That worked while there were a handful of schools. It does not scale, and it was never a good answer for a teacher at nine in the morning with a register to take.
So there is now a documentation site: docs.tawaasal.app. Fifty-two guides, written per role, illustrated with screenshots of the real product, in English and in Arabic.
One set of guides for each person in the school
The guides are organised by who you are, because the same feature looks different depending on which side of it you sit:
- School admins — eighteen guides, from setting up the academic year and importing students to running reports, managing roles, and turning on AI connectors.
- Teachers — eleven, covering attendance, homework, grading, merits, leave, and the timetable.
- Students — nine, on homework, grades, the schedule, and the app.
- Guardians — eleven, on following a child's attendance and progress, messaging the school, and leave requests.
Each guide is step-by-step, with a screenshot of the screen you'll actually be looking at. Where a screen differs between the web app and the mobile app, the guide shows both. Arabic readers get the Arabic product in the screenshots, not the English one with a note.
There is also a short Start here section — an overview, the frequently asked questions, and how to connect an AI assistant.
Linked from inside the app
You don't have to remember the address. The guides are linked from inside Tawaasal itself, so help for the screen you're on is one click away rather than a search away. The marketing site's footer points there too.
The assistant has read them
The support assistant on tawaasal.com — the chat button at the bottom of every page — now knows the guides exist. Ask it how to mark attendance, or how a guardian requests leave, and instead of guessing or handing you to a human it will name the guide that answers and link to it.
It carries the index of the guides, not their full text, and it is told so: it will point you at the right page rather than invent the steps. That is deliberate. A confident wrong answer about how to change a grade is worse than a link.
And so has yours
The same index is published for any AI assistant to read, at docs.tawaasal.app/llms.txt — and the full text of every guide at llms-full.txt. If you use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to answer questions about the tools you work with, they can read the Tawaasal guides directly, in either language.
This is part of the same commitment as the [AI connectors](/en/blog/connect-an-ai-assistant) we announced alongside it: if people are going to ask an assistant how Tawaasal works, the assistant should be reading what we wrote, not what someone else guessed.
Keeping them true
Documentation rots when the product moves and the guides don't. Every guide carries the version of Tawaasal it applies to, and the guides ship with the product, so a screenshot of a screen that no longer looks that way is a bug we can see and fix.
If a guide is wrong, unclear, or missing, tell us — the [contact page](/en/contact) is the quickest route — and it will get fixed. That was always the deal with "ask us." Now it's the deal with the guides too.
